I realize that I love drawing. Spontaneously and without thinking. I shall do it more. Drawing film maybe. Watch out!

Ode An Juni 2023

Now I start editing my 11th Ode an Juni / Ode to June film!

“In diesem Monat werde ich sehr viel unterwegs sein, Workshops und Filmfestival und Bokel, wo der geheimnisvolle Zirkuswagen steht und seinen Zauber voll entfaltet und wo ich eigentlich hauptsächlich die coolen netten Hühnchen abfilme!
I will be on the road a lot this month … a workshop, a film festival and Bokel, the Bokel, place of the mysterious gypsy caravan which is unfolding its magic … the place of funny and friendly free running chicken!
Und wo es das schönste Freibad von ganz Norddeutschland gibt! They have the most beautiful public pool of North Germany there!”

Ode To June 7

“Ode an Juni” is a kind of infinite life work shot on Super 8.
In 2008, I started to capture June, my ultimately favorite month, in picture and sound.
Diary film, Berlin portrait, life excerpt, colorful poem, something like that now every year.

Number 7 from this year’s June is almost ready!!!!!
I am just about to edit the credits!

Somewhere Inside The Rainbow

The Regenbogen-Kino (Rainbow-Cinema) in Kreuzberg is one of the last completely independant self-run cinemas in Berlin with a history rooting in punky house squatting aera in the 80es. Small and totally lovely with big soft sofas and a hi-tech Beamer. And a 35 mm projector!

I had a show there last Saturday showing my „Ode an Juni / Ode to June“ films – 4 pieces, each about 20 minutes long, super 8 origin, one after the other with a little break between to refill our glasses with summer wine: local Brandenburg cherries with white wine and champagne. Thank you for sharing this evening with me! Next year again …

Ode To June 4

I do it every year now. Every June. I film each day of my favourite month. Purely super 8. Colour. Every day a little bit, no rules, no limit, even if I don’t really feel like … I have to. Just grab my camera and film whatever I’m doing.

June #4 is ready now, took me some time to finish it, sorry, too much shit work to do. I’d love to do only filming. I guess I need a sponsor. Someone who believes in me and says: dear Dagie, I believe in you, I’ll give you 2000 bucks (Euro or Dollar, I don’t care) each month, go ahead, make art. Until it happens I just continue.
