I love these simple but beautiful light decorations! Tried to capture them passing by with our car. Xmas symbols with a summer feeling, yeah!

La Palma …. 1000 m above sea level and above the clouds … it’s still 431 more lightyears to fly to Polaris, a yellow supergiant star shining with the luminosity of 2500 suns, known as the Northern Star.

La Palma … January … hot black lava sand … a swim in the Atlantic!

Happy Holiday to all who can … Here is the sea, here is the beach, here am I with a 60 years old Bolex double 8 camera, I am happy to have access to film material still being produced in the Czech Republic (Foma!) and being sold for a low price in Berlin. I have warm boots and friendly people who surround me and wish me well. I am old and still sizzling. I know what love is. Can I do something to push the magic pendulum direction better and caring and soft and powerful intelligence and … fuck off, greedy lowbrain moneyeaters! We’re gonna erase you.

I set up my Illy coffee pinhole camera in my kitchen, a piece of photo paper inside, and let it peacefully expose. 3 days and 3 nights long. Capturing my wild untidy beloved kitchen!

I set up my Illy coffee pinhole camera in my bedroom, a piece of photo paper inside, and let it peacefully expose. 3 days and 3 nights long. Capturing window, bed, curtain, books and my invisible sleep!

Today: Helena, painter and writer! Welcome!

This camera is exactly 60 years old! It still works, it buzzes and purrs. We filmed land, soil, mud, me, puddles, reflections, double exposures, electricity poles … and a new film comes into my mind. Travelling through wormholes. Getting stuck in a universe. The film starts to live in my head, starting to evolve slowly. I love that!

(Subway station Hallesches Tor. It’s a photo 😉
Big big love: The Breeders!
Super concert in Berlin in Heimathafen Neukölln.

…. und dann noch ’nen Absacker im Wesereck!!

We had a tremendous storm some days ago, one of a kind we never experienced before to that extent …
And now I see fallen trees and wigs and branches everywhere … like this one in my neighbourhood … serving as a children’s playground.
I think it’s philosophical.

Neandertals and Homo Sapiens are two fundamentally different types of human beings and have never intermingled.
That’s not true!
A few liked each other despite or because of their differences very much and had children.
But the insatiable, aggressive, and corpse-throwing homosapiens have triumphed, and the Neandertals perished.
Nevertheless, at least a few of us current people possess a few percent Neandertaler genes in us.
We should activate them as soon as possible.

I close the window to my balcony, I open a bottle of red wine, I sing to my flowers and I watch Yoko und Klaas in TV. And in the Werbepausen I edit my Ode To June #5 film! Cheers!

49 Pommesgabeln stecken in 49 schleimigen Katzenfutterwürfeln. Welche sechs wird sich Tabi der Kater wohl als erstes aussuchen und verschlingen?
49 french fries forks stuck in 49 slimy cat food cubes. Which will be the first six Tabi the cat is going to choose and devour?
Ha: I won a Hirsch! A trophy! A deer! The best Open Air Film Festival in the world: Weiterstadt honored me for my bunch of films that I made during the last 30 years … Good! Thank you!! I will continue. Promised. <3

I’m starting a „Kottbusser Tor Pinhole Photos“ – series!
This is number 1.
I pass there every time I go from my home to my darkroom.

The Prinzenbad in Berlin-Kreuzberg is located in the center of the city and in the evening closely before they … errr … close it feels like a little oasis especially at cloudy days. I’ve always loved it.

Me and Gesine we dive into the beautiful science of solargraphy now. The simple way: a lighttight box, a hole, a piece of photo paper, sun and time. And patience. We hang them onto roofs and light posts. We wait. The sun will leave traces. We capture time. We think about more experimental ways …

It’s a film. By me and Gabriele Kahnert. 85 minutes long.
13 years ago we started – a 2 women gang with 3 cameras (two digital, one super 8), 1 car and 1 sound recorder – pursuing the paths of some music lovers spread all over the world (Germany, Russia, USA, China) and a band speeding from one venue to the next: Canada, West Coast, Southern States.
What a trip!
„Some films appear out of thin air, like figures emerging from the fog. […] „And then it starts, with one of the lightest and most carefree of film beginnings seen in years. The band begins slowly, searching and a bit hesitant. Both filmmakers use the song’s initial calm to introduce the central characters. Rhythmically confident in gesture and movement, it is an indication of the film’s allure and that of its figures. Then the music sets in – a cut to the road passing by. It is a never-ending, gliding movement, a rhythm that is sustained right up to the last minute on screen.“ Read the full article (Hans J. Wulff, October 2007) here!
The film spent 10 years sleeping in the drawer. The band didn’t like it … which meant: no music rights (we used 21 songs in it!!)
Now it’s awake again and will be shown at Unerhört!-MusikFilmfestival in Hamburg in September. Legally. The times they are a-changing …
Recently I collected some mountain herbs and flowers hiking through the beautiful Klöntal in Switzerland … I filmed … I collected … I felt like walking in a postcard …
And then later I developed the film in these collected herbs, made a tea from it and added some of Swiss favourite drink: Ovomaltine … plus washing soda and vitamin c to activate the soup.
Results? A soft black & white film with good gray nuances!

Berlin rain, wet streets, white clouds, blue sky.

At the place where the Türler lake now lies, there was in old times a beautiful farm with fertile fields. The owner had a single child, a graceful, sweet daughter. The young master of the castle on the Schnabelburg had an eye on her, and he pursued her passionately. The respectable child persistently rejected all his promises.
Then the master of the castle persuaded the father to bring the girl to the castle at midnight under all sorts of pretensions. He opened the gate himself, and drew in the reluctent daughter. As he wanted to close the gate, she noticed what was being played, and uttered a cry of cursing against her treacherous father.
At that moment a flash of lightning flashed from the sky and met her parents‘ house. She saw a fiery gap open, and the fine and once so blessed farm with all the fields disappeared into it. But in the morning there was a lake at that place.
