This golden statue stands on Hermannplatz, a lovely ugly place in Berlin-Neukölln: half hipster, half sleazy.
What does it symbolize? I don’t know … freedom for children? Dance? (it was built in 1985 and the group of figures was originally rotatable but they stopped it 2012).
Doves like to sit on the guy‘s hand and on the ground.

Walking along Adalberstrasse direction Kottbusser Tor, from friend K to my home, I cross Waldemarstrasse and I suddenly remember the ancient Berlin winter smell: Kohleheizung! Briketts! Union and Rekord! Coal heating, 30 years ago was pretty common then, briquettes called Union and Rekord, one East one West as far as I remember … which was better? Forgot … I am sure we used the cheaper ones! I’ve lived here for so long, I love my Berlin.

Oooooh, I guess I made the most beautiful pinhole photo ever! Pure luck!
What is these grey irregularities in the sky? Is it finger prints? Dirt?
I am not sure … the piece of negative was in the Illy cam for some days before I actually exposed it. Maybe a change of warm and cold, maybe dust … I don’t care, it looks fantastic 😉

(Tempelhof Ex-Airfield, giant park open for the public)
Found two pinhole photos of palm trees in Los Angeles I took several years ago. I love them! Especially the weird distorted ones 😉

Snow covering my never-tired orange superflower on my balcony, it’s a Ringelblume / Marigold!
I scan a lot of old pinhole negatives today … remember: my bread job is gone, I’m a happy artist now! I have time and space and energy … here’s one of my alltime favourites: Santa Monica Beach with seagulls.

Whenever I work in my darkroom I have some old expired pieces of photo paper lying around and splash some developer and fixer on them. Light is on. See what happens!!!
(There‘s one with a leaf structure on it! I dumped a leaf in developer for seconds and pressed it on the paper. It‘s a phytogram then!)

This used to be a – I love the word – Kaugummiautomat / gumball machine.
Good-bye, Tagesspiegel, you old stinky sock, you hierarchical honk, my worst job ever.
I got my job termination now and I celebrate it.

That‘s the title of the book I found lying in the window, waiting for somebody to take it and be happy!

That‘s what I like: see the world from a different angle! Klemm die Lochkamera ein! Squeeze your camera somewhere!
That‘s what I did and I got this weird photo of a lamp post and some houses at Kotti (Kottbusser Tor, famous ugly spot in Berlin)!

A year’s end pinhole photo: my parents’ living room, Xmas, lights on (do you see the candles on the tree?).
2 hours exposure time.

Some people hang glitter stuff in their conifer trees for xmas, some have long lasting apples on their apple trees!

It’s here, fresh from the printers, it’s cool, I love to touch it, soft, good, strong paper, it has 138 pages plus cover, it is German from the front and if you turn it round it’s English!
I am deeply satisfied.
What is it all about?
This book has been private for over 20 years and now I think:
it has to go out into the world!
I drew it and gifted it to my brother for his 30th birthday, and of
course the story somehow coincides with both of us: he is Bero
the Brave and I am the big sister, La Dague who takes care of him!
That‘s the way it is.
First edition: 40 copies. You can buy it for 20 € / 25 $ directly from me. Only 22 left. I should consider having another 100 printed 😉
Here’s a little film: XX

… or nothing of everything … I am still reflecting on the right title for my new super 8 film. Spending some foggy days on the countryside, filming weird and beautiful and grey goats and clouds and beetroots (under cover) and and and …

… even in a rural installation!

(covered beetroots)
Reitetier … the same word from forward and backwards. Riding animal.
Found it in the forest, a piece of a giant tree, a root, welcoming you to sit on it and take a ride. It has got handles too!

A gabion (from Italian gabbione meaning „big cage“) is a cage, cylinder or box filled with rocks.
Its hipness is already fading but these gabion fences used to be the hot thing around German front gardens!
Here is something from a deeper part of hell: A FAKE GABION! It is a photo of gabion rocks, printed large scale on plastic fabric and then woven in a sort of wire fence. I am deeply amazed!!!

Sweden has definitely the best stamps in the world!!!

Dalai Dalai is ready to watch! My new super 8 film – 4 minutes long. All about logical lines of reincarnation and if there’s going to be a female Dalai Lama next. Some nice double exposures and a Mähdrescher / harvester.
There are two versions (because I like to talk so much … subtitles would be irritating),
Have fun!
Finding beautiful things and marvellous words!

Hej hej, this was my first zoom workshop!!! 7 women artists in Göteborg at beloved Konstepidemin – a cool art space with lots of good things happening!
(Remember? I was there the first time this year in March, having a filmshow, meeting Maria and Fredrik and Johanna (for the first time, the latter. She organized this workshop now!!).
What can you expect from me? All eco of course – we called this workshop “Ecoberry Film Soups” and I tried to beam my enthusiasm and knowledge and recipes up North while they developed their black&white super 8 films that they shot shortly before in: coffee, tree bark tea, beetroot juice and curcuma soup!!!
We are going to digitize all films later, they will edit them this winter and then next year in January they are going to be exhibited in Göteborg at some gallery. More infos later!!!

Another Illy camera pinhole photo … my street, autumn mood.

Colored leaves inside and outside

I think about it again and again … why the Dalai Lama actually never reincarnated as a girl! Never before!
Reincarnated 13 times, always as a boy.
But that will change too!
Thinking about a film … about words and coincidences and double exposures!

Isn’t it amazing what a small flat simple peppermint tin box can create?
I just put a piece of paper in, stuck the box to my tripod, placed it in front of my window and opened the lid (the one on the little hole) to expose it about 20 minutes to the dim afternoon sunlight that fell in.
Then later developed it in coffee, scanned and inverted it … et voilà!!
