Anidri Beach rocks.
Unfortunately the Beach Kantina was closed this evening … but I found the most beautiful toilet painting for women and men there!
And I know now: the Greek flag consists of sky, sea, air!

This morning, bikeriding, I almost rolled over this little piece of cardbord, kratke and cipele and cabanica, and thought: so beautiful these words! Czech perhaps?
World of images, world of words, I love you!
Playing in the park, animating things and ourselves, havin fun with the Nizo camera and getting to know it while filming … that was day 1 of my 2 days workshop!!
It is always so interesting and full of energy to see how a group forms … only 2 days and we’re all having a community feeling like sitting in one boat … and creativity and joy multiply!

Yesterday I helped my friend Khani with some filming for her miraculous Bands On Boats project in the Schokoladen (a nice venue – chocolate shop is the name, music is inside) – hanging a super 8 camera from the ceiling and filming a little around (video) … focussed on the lovely band Quixote.
They really amazed me. Awesome talented guys from London, now living in Berlin for better vibes and surviving reasons I guess. The singer has a voice that melts icebergs. I look into my magic crystal ball and see a bright future for them!

After a very relaxed and beautiful and sunny inside outside vernissage of my film still exhibition yesterday I must say: I love this city, I love this summer, I love summer rain and shiny rainbows, I live beneath and feel somehow … protected. Hereby I swear: I will multiply, beam and share!
Here’s a little slideshow of the event >>> X

Don’t miss my exhibition, Berliners and visitors!
This coming Saturday from 1 pm!
Admire Barbies, have a sparkling wine and a coffee, talk to me and others, linger on the sidewalk enjoy summer and pictures!!
At Screenshot, THE film digitizer shop in Berlin! (Sredzkistr. 24)

What a yummy word! Italian for treat. Lecker Imbiss in German!
There’s a tiny restaurant in my neighbourhood called Primo Maggio (May 1st) – I enjoyed a late Easter minimal breakfast with my brother (perfect for a medium hungry person: Colazione „Bella Ciao“ which is 1 butter-dripping croissant, 1 fantastic coffee, 1 glass of fresh orange juice for 4.50 ).
Mediterranean feeling inside and outside!

car&tulip photo www.berndbrundert.de – best photographer in town 😉
I just found the Easter bunny laying eggs at Edeka, my favourite neighbourhood shop!
Happy sunny holiday!

Sterben ist Scheisse, why the fuck do have friends to die?
This is for Fred who was my supporter and my friend in my super 8 universe for sooooo many years!

Left above picture: incredible blue sky in Berlin-Neukölln today, Fred’s memorial party tonight, hot sun, straight colours, clear vision, smiling neighbours, angels flights, blackbirds tweets ….. I need one more rosé … drink on / for love ………

First day out smoooothe summer wind on my skin, Rhabarbersaftschorle and Spezi and wheat beer mmmmmmmmh want more!

Seems like spring light is slowly flooding in … yeeeaaaah!!
My little family (nephew, brother) and me went on a trip to the outskirts of the city on the hunt again for imaginary treasures and real lost places (see www.geocaching.com), a cool way to explore and find places and spaces you’d never go without your navi 😉
Nephew David forgot his camera at home so he asked me to take a photo of his spooky discovery: a spider on ice!

Paolo, me, and Lisa met in Rotterdam!
This is an intimate message for those who know! They are my American (super-8-) friends who run one of the most magical places on earth – the Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles! Yeeha! What a wonderful time we had walking over shaky bridges (pre spring stormy weather!), filming, counting rabbits
sharing and renewing our friendship!
On my train ride back to Berlin I discovered some poetic words / decoration … don’t understand much but it made me smile thinking about coming back, confetti and returning summer feelings!

And this is a cool sandwich vending machine found at Rotterdam Centraal train station!

Recently I was in Dresden, beautiful city, overflowing river, funny train station called „Wild Man“ I held a workshop there at one of my most favourite short film festivals called „Schmallfilmtage / Small format days“. Woke up, looked out of the window, rubbed my eyes: blue sheep!

Inspiration. Colors. Next Wabisabi workshop will be in Berlin, in May. Check out wabisabisuper8.com from time to time …
Connection of music and film. How I love it! My films can’t exist without music or rhythmic sound. When I listen to a tune and close my eyes the images come, whirl inside of me, begin a life of their own. Just can’t help it, they are always connected and kiss each other! Hey, romantic me! The snow just melted away and I can smell pre-spring coming!
Anyway David Thomas, American clarinetist and soloist with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra hired me to create a film for one of his music pieces. Called „Arabesques“. And the images start to roll. And rock 😉 My home is my animation studio, I carry my Nizo camera with me when I go out , I’m a hunter and collector!

I saw this today in one of the ugliest corners of Berlin: the passage from Kottbusser Tor to Dresdener Strasse, always marked with different piss odor marks.
Made me smile, though 🙂

The more I look at that no into that picture, I see those swans flying through the universe! Sucked into a black hole! Spit out by a swanhater! Bullshit, they were just lazily floating on the Berlin Landwehrkanal when I passed the bridge. Snow pouring from the deep black heavens.

Happy Xmas and love for you all!

I found this today in my street!

Just around my corner! So many bars, so many galleries, so much going on here’s a one day exhibition at The Forgotten Bar in Boppstrasse 5 in Berlin-Kreuzberg: paintings, drawings and photos by Peter Hock and Helga Geng, friends and neighbours. Moling through the manhigh magic snow, planets, bubbles and space themes in my mind, thinking about „Snow Crash“ and universe hopping and then watching pictures drinking red wine, talking with coincidence watchers. I love that. Be inspired!

Ohhh so pathetic, there’s a mistletoe hanging in subway station Schönleinstrasse a poor angel must have had pity with us freezing winter travelers and somehow managed to fix it onto the ceiling above the stairs: you look up, grin and feel a bit kissed. Just an enourmously mingily tiny little bit! Smack!

A little late but here come some photos from my film stills exhibition!
I’m still somehow enchanted
and want to thank you all for ploughing your paths through the snow and coming! Especially of course my brother and my nephew who helped me so much!
All in all we broke 2 corkscrews, had hours of crazy and intelligent conversation, I sold 3 pictures (or not
they said they wanted but I haven’t heard from them until now
), showed some original super 8 films (which the stills were taken from) and it felt like gathering around a bonfire
in a winter igloo
I wanna do it again!!!

whatever that means

Siberia! Ice flowers! Glimmering snow! From one day to another Berlin has totally changed, all is covered in snow and all is slow.

Yesterday there was a great and warm and loud event at the Schokoladen: Khani showed her 2 Bands-On-Boats-Trailer and then: 2 bands: awesome Rubber Hair and punkfunky Sudaca Power. Hearts glowing here and there, wine flowing, snowballs throwing 😉

Aaaaand: tomorrow’s the day: my exhibition!
Spent half of the day hanging pictures, well, my brother actually did and I was jumping around
Come and see!
Atelier Detel Aurand
Kreuzbergstr. 37/38
Berlin-Kreuzberg
(U-Bahn Yorckstraße)

Weird how sensations can be completely different! For days I’ve noticed a strange smell in my house’s stairway. I detected: shoes. Feet. Dusty shoe closet. Not knowing where it comes from.
A friend came to see me and I asked her to tell me spontaneously what she thought it would smell like there. She said within a second: „Basmati rice“.
Since then I try to figure out the similarity between both worlds. Good training anyway. The commonness of totally unfitting things / realities.

It’s Sunday again and we aaaall go to the best flea market in town, the Mauerpark-Flohmarkt!
Tourists, real Berliners, aliens, art, shit, kitsch, cooool old stuff, fancy clothes, warm Wintermützen, best international food, crispy Bratwurst, speedy coffee all mingles. Just today I want to hug and kiss my city.
See a smile coming up —> mauerparksmile.mov

Like so many beautiful times before my little family (today: brother, nephew, friend) and me went out in the woods, in the Brandenburg Ex-GDR, into the golden October fluffy air, exploring another geocaching site.
Crazy.
The Teupitz hospital. A lunatic asylum. With a long history: A psychiatry hospital, a city in a bubble, built 100 years ago and over the years serving as military hospital in the first WW and during Nazi time connected to their euthanasia murder program killing thousands of mentally and physically disabled patients
From 1945 Russian military hospital.
Now ghost town!
Weird feeling
strolling around, exploring buildings, caves, a silent place, a lost place, finding relicts like Russian newspapers, mineral water bottles from the Georgian Republic, dossiers, hand written records, a theater with a rotten stage, a disco with wacky painted wallpapers ROCK IN ROCK I mean why the hell do communists paint capitalistic disco symbols like ROCK and NY SKYLINE and DISCO and SNEAKERS onto their little club wall
many miracles and horror breezes mingle and still linger. October sun came rushing in, beaming us into a calmly breathing eyes-wide-open mood.

The Rock in Rock Band from left to right: Brother Bernd, me, Nephew David, Friend Kirstin!

Lately I walked along a street, a cemetery, high walls, old bricks
and I realized someone has vomited on a high kind of platform brick, eye height
no, rather forehead height
Did he / she jump in the second when it
came?
Life is full of miracles and riddles!
And beautiful uncleaned windows like mine:
