(from my super 8 film „Widerstand“)
Me and my pre-spring balcony.

Me at work 😀
This is a still image from a super 8 film. Expired East German ORWO material, very old, very fragile, very sensitive to temperatures …. The three colour layers tend to peel off until only one colour remains or none at all.
In this case I was lucky that content and form danced together!

Some new film experiments … spring is coming, flowers in my hair … developing in / drinking coffee …

I do it every year now. Every June. I film each day of my favourite month. Purely super 8. Colour. Every day a little bit, no rules, no limit, even if I don’t really feel like … I have to. Just grab my camera and film whatever I’m doing.
June #4 is ready now, took me some time to finish it, sorry, too much shit work to do. I’d love to do only filming. I guess I need a sponsor. Someone who believes in me and says: dear Dagie, I believe in you, I’ll give you 2000 bucks (Euro or Dollar, I don’t care) each month, go ahead, make art. Until it happens I just continue.

Clandestino is the first full-length solo album by Manu Chao.
Fact. Wiki.
Clandestino is also a well hidden bar in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Waldemarstrasse.
I discovered it lately, it’s not that well hidden any more.
Another fact. Me.
Believe me, they have the best wine and tapas.
Solo voy con mi pena
Sola va mi condena
Correr es mi destino
Para burlar la ley
Perdido en el corazón
De la grande Babylon
Me dicen el clandestino
Por no llevar papel.

and now?

On the roof terrace where I work, the first time of the year, yeah – the snow is gone! There’s a breath of coming spring! I hear the heating / air condition humming, I hear the far away sound of the subway squeaking at Gleisdreieck where it dives down into the ground, I drink a lemon verbena tea and capture the light!

We like colours, movements, nature and sometimes people. We also like to in-camera-edit our films!

Ooooooh winter please go away and make place for flowers and sun!

Filming laughing constructing networking eating building fucking sharing funning creating.
Yeah.

I was once in the FBI. I used to assemble cornflakes and walrusses around me and teach them how to use Russian developer tanks, using organic phenol containing beetroot and tulip soups (waiting for the sun) … in order to develop ordinary small format black! and white! films …the results are amazing. They eiffeltower every tetenalic kodakious plain plan play film. They are amazing. They make the world great again. Sad. True. Love.

…. taken on a cloudy snowy afternoon with my oval twinhole peppermint camera!

Spontaneous filmmaking. Me and my lover, a super 8 camera, a TriX film, very bad German winter weather, a village, no people around, just one dog called „Bine“ (Biene = Bee) … some pun about merde and la merde and lametta … a tripod, no wind, good mood, a field full of fallen winter apples that I collected and used later for developing this very film.
And I must say: when I go out filming I make the experience that almost never there’s anybody feeling offended – could be because super 8 cameras look very much like toy cameras, could be because I smile, could be because I don’t come around with an army of a crew … I don’t know … well anyway that lovely old lady just popped out of her cozy house, smiled at the scenery and popped in again. Loved her.
Here’s the film >> X
I am happy. I am analog. I share a darkroom with my brother. We de-dust enlargers, trays, tanks, we tinker darkening panels for the windows. We start to work. Pictures, films, papers, regular and eco developing experiments, red light, orange light, nice smell and beauty. Winter is not that frightening any more.

Come and see us and our pictures.

(Admiralbrücke, Berlin)

OK folks, I’m really pissed now, I’d have never thought that it would come to Berlin, to Kreuzberg: a TINY glass of wine! Normally you get 0,2 liters and it costs whatever … from 3,50 to 8 € which is all ok depending on the quality of wine and location … but today I had the choice between 0,1 and 0,5. I asked the young nice barman what if I am thirsty and would like to have 0,2 and he answered: then I’ll bring you 0,1 twice and you will have clean glasses each time!
Well stick your clean glasses wherever you like but 0,1 is just ridiculous! I don’t need homeopathic portions, I need a genuine old fashioned portion, I need something in my hands, I need something that I can rely on.
Plus … now it’s getting really oberspiessig (square / suburban): their glasses have EICHSTRICHE! I can’t believe it! A white mark on the glass saying this is 0,1 liter and don’t go beyond! Don’t step into the land of plenty! Don’t exaggerate! Don’t drink full pleasure!
Apothekenbar am O-Platz, hip kurz „Ora“, du hast auf immer verschissen.

Weiterstadt has spooky houses and streets but the friendliest open air film festival in the world!

We feel good here!
